Find Crawford County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Crawford County Jail, search the official county booking history and open the correct custody episode. A release timestamp confirms when that booking ended. It does not show the legal reason or the person's destination. Court files, state corrections records, and notification events answer those separate questions. The Crawford County Jail release search also requires care with past bookings, current-custody filters, and transfers. Matching the booking number, date, and arresting agency helps distinguish a true release from an old record or a move to another custodian.

Crawford County Jail Release Paths

Crawford County Jail is the county's verified adult detention facility and the primary custodian of its local booking and release record. A person may leave for the community on bond or a court order, after time served, or under probation. The person may instead transfer to the Kansas Department of Corrections, another jail, federal custody, or another agency. New World records when the county booking ended, but the public detail does not identify the release reason or destination.

That limit matters. “Released by Crawford County Jail” should not be rewritten as “free in the community” without another record. The court case can establish dismissal, bond action, sentence, probation, or another legal result. A matching KASPER movement may show a KDOC handoff. BOP and the federal docket address federal custody. An ICE check is appropriate only when a detainer, proceeding, or transfer clue supports it. The county timestamp remains the starting fact, not the whole outcome.

Important: A transfer ends the Crawford County Jail booking while custody continues under the receiving agency.

Confirm Crawford County Jail Release

The official New World Inmate Inquiry supports released-person searches because its In Custody filter is optional. It accepts a name, subject number, booking number, booking-date range, and housing facility. Date fields narrow the booking date, not the release date. A known booking number gives the cleanest route.

The county search screen displays the controls needed to find Crawford County Jail release history.

Crawford County Jail release search controls and In Custody checkbox

Leave In Custody unchecked. Selecting it limits results to people described by the interface as currently jailed and can hide the released booking being sought.

  1. Enter the exact name, subject number, or booking number. Use flexible spelling only until the correct record is identified.
  2. Leave In Custody clear. Add Booking From and Booking To dates only to narrow when the booking began.
  3. Match the booking number, booking date, photo, facility, and arresting agency. Do not rely on a name alone.
  4. Open Booking History and select the relevant episode. Record its exact Release Date and time.
  5. Check the court or receiving system when the reason or destination matters. Request the agency record when the screens disagree.

A blank In Custody cell can be a clue, but the populated release timestamp in the selected detail is stronger. The sheriff warns that information changes quickly and is updated regularly. No exact update schedule is published, so a recent event may require a later check or a call to the jail.

Crawford Jail Release Record Fields

Search results can display a photograph, name, age, sex, race, booking number, booking date, housing facility, and custody indication. The detail view adds subject number, demographics, exact Release Date and time, prisoner type, bond information, charges, offense dates, arresting agency, and booking photos. One subject page may retain several bookings and several images.

The official released booking detail example documents how the timestamp appears within Crawford County Jail booking history.

The screenshot demonstrates the record fields only. Pair any image with its booking number, booking date, and release time. An older photograph or charge does not establish present custody or the final result of a case.

FieldHow to read it
Booking numberIdentifies the specific custody episode
Booking dateMarks when that local booking began
Release Date and timeConfirms when the selected booking ended
In CustodyShows the interface's current jail indication

No formal online retention period is published. Historical bookings visible today do not guarantee permanent access. The older archive link within New World currently fails, while the main historical search remains active.

Why Crawford Jail Custody Ended

The booking screen records charges and bond, but those fields are not a disposition. A bond amount can exist beside a later court event or a different release basis. A zero or blank bond amount does not prove time served, dismissal, or a no-bond detention. To state the reason, locate a sheriff release entry or court record connecting the booking to the event.

Crawford County district records are divided between Girard and Pittsburg. Cases ending in G generally route to Girard, and those ending in P generally route to Pittsburg. The Crawford County Judicial Center says Girard holds felony and misdemeanor criminal filings from 1991 forward. Municipal ordinance matters may belong to Pittsburg or Girard Municipal Court instead.

The court order and physical release can occur at different times. Preserve the order date and the New World release time. If another hold caused a transfer, the receiving custodian is needed to describe the result accurately.

Crawford County Jail Records Contact

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office operates the jail. Sheriff Billy Tomasi is named on the current agency page. The sheriff main line and jail line are separate, so the jail number is the direct starting point for current operational instructions.

Crawford County Jail release records and official sheriff contacts

The official source provides agency navigation and contact information. It does not publish release-processing hours, a release door, or a jail-record fee schedule.

For a records request, identify an existing booking record. Give the full name, approximate booking date, subject or booking number, and the fields sought. Ask for the recorded booking and release date and time, the release category or authority if maintained, and any public transfer or destination field. Request a booking photo as a separately priced item. Electronic delivery and an itemized estimate can reduce uncertainty.

Request Crawford Jail Release Records

Crawford County's open-records page provides a KORA form and online route. A jail release request still belongs with the Sheriff's Office or the appropriate identified custodian. The county clerk's general form should not be used to ask the judiciary for a court disposition.

The county source is the place to confirm the current request method. Crawford County publishes no general sheriff release-record price, so ask for an estimate rather than assuming a fee.

K.S.A. 45-218 requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. That rule requires a response, not full production within three days. Reasonable actual costs can include staff review and redaction, and advance payment may be required. A narrow request with a booking number helps staff locate the existing record.

Booking photographs need separate care. K.S.A. 45-219 does not require an agency to furnish copies of pictures or visual items in many circumstances. Online display proves the sheriff's publication practice, not a promise to supply a copied image or keep it online forever.

Crawford County Jail VINE Alerts

Kansas VINE covers adults held in Crawford County Jail. It does not cover KDOC state-prison custody. Registration is most useful while the person is still in the county jail. Search the named person, choose an offered phone, email, text, or app channel, and keep the four-digit PIN used for phone alerts.

A VINE event may say release, transfer, or escape. Note the event, then compare it with New World. A populated release time corroborates departure from the booking. When VINE says transfer, find the receiving system instead of assuming the person returned to the community. If VINE updates first, recheck New World or call the jail.

Two official Kansas sources list 1-866-574-8463, while the current state landing page conflicts by printing 1-866-574-7463. Entering through the linked state page is the safest way to see current agency information. The full specific-person workflow appears on the VINELink Check page.

Crawford Jail Transfer Verification

A county-to-KDOC transfer requires more than a local release time. Search KASPER by KDOC number when known or by name. Match date of birth, physical details, photograph, Crawford conviction county, and court case. A state movement near the county exit can support a handoff when those identifiers align.

KASPER serves a different purpose. It covers sentences to the Kansas Secretary of Corrections from 1980 forward, while New World records the county booking. A person can leave Crawford County Jail and remain confined in state custody. Someone released locally without a KDOC sentence should not be expected in KASPER. The home Crawford County released inmate search compares the county, state, federal, and court channels.

Crawford Jail Recent Release Limits

Crawford County publishes no verified rolling 24-hour or 72-hour release feed. A booking-date range with In Custody clear can help check a known name, but it cannot list every person released during that time. Someone booked before the range and released inside it may be missed. Results may also mix current and released bookings.

The sheriff says the data is updated regularly but gives no exact cadence. CRIMEWATCH arrest and news posts are not a full release list, and no app-based jail release feature was verified. The 24-Hour Release List and 72-Hour Release List pages explain the honest booking-search workaround and its limits.

Crawford Jail Release-Day Details

No official source states the release hours, physical exit door, weekend or holiday practice, family waiting area, gate-money policy, or time required for property return. Call 620-724-8853 with the known person and booking to ask for current instructions. Court paperwork, holds, and transport can change timing.

SEK-CAP demand-response service can be explored for a planned trip, but it is not a promised jail pickup. The service normally calls for prior-day notice, with same-day rides only when available. PACT serves Pittsburg, and no source documents a fixed-route stop at the Girard jail. Ask whether a trip can be scheduled instead of relying on an unverified pickup plan.

Crawford Jail Post-Release Services

The sheriff's Inmate Services page documents voluntary, intake-screened medication-assisted treatment, counseling, medical assessment, withdrawal management, and aftercare. It also describes access to licensed mental-health staff and an on-site Community Health Worker who helps prepare people for post-release life.

Those services are not guaranteed for every person. The source does not establish universal eligibility or enrollment. Crawford County Community Corrections is also separate. It supervises eligible adult felony clients under court authority and should not be treated as an automatic service for all Crawford County Jail releases. Juvenile intake and supervision remain outside this adult facility record.
